Shareholders vs. Plexus Corp.
Kahn Gauthier Swick, LLC ("KGS") announces that shareholders of Plexus Corp. ("Plexus" or the "Company") (NASDAQ:PLXS - News) who purchased shares or other securities of the Company between January 25, 2006 and July 27, 2006 (the "Class Period"), have until August 24, 2007 to move for appointment as Lead Plaintiff in a securities fraud class action lawsuit currently pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. No class has yet been certified in this action.
Prison Detainees vs. Cook County
U.S. District Judge Matthew Kennelly certified a federal lawsuit as a class action, making Cook County, Illinois potentially liable for the strip searches of some 250,000 men who have entered the County Jail since Jan. 30, 2004.
FLorida Motorists vs. State of Florida
Tens of thousands of Florida motorists will get compensation under a $50 million class-action settlement approved over the alleged illegal purchase of their motor vehicle records by a bank from the state government.

Some class actions don't fit into the other, more common categories. One of the main groups consists of class actions related to travel. These could be class actions by stranded airline passengers, or cruise passengers who feel they overpaid or didn't get what they paid for, or hotel guests who received improper billing or inadequate services.
Another main group of class actions that don't fit into other categories consists of actions brought by landowners. For instance, the owners of land from which gas, oil, or other mineral resources are extracted may allege that they are not receiving fair royalties. Or landowners may seek compensation when telephone companies lay cables on their property without asking permission, or when railroads stop using a section of train track but then let other companies use the property rather than returning it to its former owners.
