Remote-Controlled Helicopter Toys Recalled by Innovage Due to Fire and Burn HazardsDate: 8/7/2008
Reason: The rechargeable lithium ion battery inside the helicopters can overheat, catch fire, and ignite nearby combustibles, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.

WASHINGTON , D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: "Sky Scrambler" and "The Sharper Image" Wireless Indoor Helicopters Units: About 685,000 Importer/Distributor: Innovage LLC, of Foothill Ranch, Calif. Hazard: The rechargeable lithium ion battery inside the helicopters can overheat, catch fire, and ignite nearby combustibles, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. Incidents/Injuries: Innovage has received two reports of incidents of the toy helicopters igniting, including one burn injury to a consumer's fingertip. Description: The "Sky Scrambler" and "The Sharper Image" toy helicopters have yellow, red or blue decals. BH26047 is printed on the Sky Scrambler's tail. "The Sharper Image" is printed on the tail of "The Sharper Image" helicopters. Sold at: Mass merchandisers, department stores, drug stores, and other retail stores nationwide, and on the Web from June 2007 through May 2008 for about $20. Manufactured in: Hong Kong Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled helicopters and contact Innovage for a full refund. Babies using these walkers can be seriously injured or killed. Distribution: Nationwide Date: 9/8/2008 Reason: The baby carrier’s chest strap can detach from the shoulder straps, posing a fall hazard to the baby. Distribution: Nationwide Date: 9/15/2008 Reason: Due to the serious hazard these bassinets pose to babies, CPSC urges all consumers to share this safety warning with day care centers, consignment stores, family and friends to ensure that no child is placed to sleep in a Simplicity convertible bassinet covered by this warning. Distribution: Nationwide Date: 9/8/2008 Reason: Children can get entangled in the drawstrings that can catch on playground equipment, fences or tree branches.
