Pottery Barn Kids Recalls Children's Metal Water Bottles Due to Choking HazardDate: 9/17/2008
Reason: The sip top on the water bottles can pull off, posing a choking hazard to young children.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Children's Metal Water Bottles Units: About 20,000 Manufacturer: Pottery Barn Kids, of San Francisco, Calif. Hazard: The sip top on the water bottles can pull off, posing a choking hazard to young children. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: The metal water bottles are about 9 inches tall and have a black rubber pull up sip top. The following water bottles are included in this recall. The style number and "Pottery Barn Kids" are printed on a white sticker on the bottom of the water bottle.
Sold at: Pottery Barn Kids' stores nationwide, Pottery Barn Kids' catalog, and online at www.potterybarnkids.com from January 2007 through August 2008 for about $10. Manufactured in: China Remedy: Consumers should take the recalled water bottles away from children immediately and return them to any Pottery Barn Kids' store for a full refund. If purchased through the catalog or online, contact Pottery Barn Kids to receive a full refund. Date: 10/27/2008 Reason: The rechargeable batteries included with the Recharging Station can overheat if the gaming system is placed into the recharging base upside down, posing a burn hazard to consumers. Distribution: Nationwide Date: 9/30/2008 Reason: The paint on the recalled toy boats contains an excess level of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard. Distribution: Nationwide Date: 9/26/2008 Reason: The undersides of the foot platforms can have sharp edges, posing a laceration hazard to children. Distribution: Nationwide Date: 10/21/2008 Reason: The walkers violate the baby walker voluntary standard and can fit through a standard doorway and are not designed to stop at the edge of a step. Babies using these walkers can be seriously injured or killed.
