 SOME INSTANCES, 2005, 2006 AND 2007 MARISTAR 245 AND X-45 MODELS EQUIPPED WITH HYDRAULIC STEERING ARE EXPERIENCING EXCEPTIONAL WEAR ON THE HYDRAULIC STEERING CLEVIS OR THE BOLT HOLDING THE HYDRAULIC STEERING CLEVIS TO THE RUDDER ARM HAS FAILED. EITHER WOULD RESULT IN CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE STEERING SYSTEM AND WILL CAUSE THE BOAT OPERATOR TO LOSE ALL ABILITY TO STEER AND CONTROL THE BOAT. ONCE THIS POTENTIAL CONDITION WAS DISCOVERED, MASTERCRAFT IMMEDIATELY CHANGED ITS MANUFACTURING PROCESS FOR THIS MODEL TO ENSURE THE PROPER INSTALLATION OF THE STEERING SYSTEM. REPAIR - THE HYDRAULIC STEERING CLEVIS AND THE BOLT HOLDING THE HYDRAULIC STEERING CLEVIS TO THE RUDDER ARM SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH A REDESIGNED CONFIGURATION OF THESE COMPONENTS ON EACH BOAT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL POPULATION AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITY. CUR 1 RECVD - 55 CORRECTED.
