Juicy Couture Children's Jewelry Recalled for Lead Poisoning HazardDate: 5/10/2006

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Juicy Couture Children's Jewelry Units: About 2,800 Manufacturer: Liz Claiborne Inc., of North Bergen, N.J. Hazard: The recalled jewelry contains high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects. Incidents/Injuries: None. Description and Models: The recalled bracelets and necklaces are gold or silver with charms. The charms include a yellow painted metal shirt with "Viva La Juicy" printed on the front, a cheerleader's megaphone with the word "Juicy," a green heart with "Juicy Couture," a black dog, the letter "J," and a purple flower. The jewelry is sold in a pink box with "Juicy Couture" and "Made with Love G&P" printed on the top. Style numbers YJRU0722, YJRU0723, YJR0724 and YJRU0538 are included in this recall. The style number is printed on a white sticker on the bottom of the pink jewelry box. Sold at: Department stores nationwide from September 2005 through April 2006 for about $95. Manufactured In: China Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled jewelry away from children and return it to the place where purchased for a full refund. Distribution: Nationwide Date: 6/19/2008 Reason: If the harness becomes disconnected and a vehicle crash occurs, the child may not be securely fastened to their child seat and may sustain injury. Date: 7/3/2008 Reason: The cribs could fail to meet a federal safety standard for crib dimensions. When the mattress support is in the middle setting, the space between the mattress and the crib could be too wide, posing an entrapment hazard to infants. Date: 6/12/2008 Reason: The four pegs supporting the oven shelf and four pegs supporting the refrigerator shelf can pull out of the wood, posing a choking hazard to children.
