WASHINGTON , D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Butterfly Necklaces Units: About 19,000 Importer: GeoCentral, of Napa, Calif. Hazard: The metal clasp on the necklace contains high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: The recalled necklaces consist of a multi-colored butterfly pendant on a multi-colored seed bead 16-inch necklace. The product's packaging includes a white hang card with "GeoJewelry" printed on the front underneath "GeoCentral." Sold at: Souvenir and gift stores nationwide from January 2006 through May 2007 for about $2. Manufactured in: China Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled jewelry away from children and return them to store where purchased for a full refund or contact GeoCentral for information on how to obtain a full refund.
