Euro-Pro and QVC Recall Deep Fryers Due to Burn Hazard

The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Cooks Essentials Deep Fryers

Units: About 1,600

Retailer: QVC Inc., of West Chester, Pa.

Distributor: Euro-Pro Operating LLC, of Newton, Mass.

Hazard: The fryers can overheat, posing a burn hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: No injuries have been reported.

Description: The recalled fryers include QVC Cook Essentials 3 Liter Stainless Steel Deep Fryers with three baskets. The fryers were sold as item number K14942. Model number F1053Q is printed on a sticker on the bottom of the fryers.

Sold through: QVC's televised shopping programs and its Web site from April 2008 through May 2008 for about $60 including shipping costs.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Known purchasers were mailed instructions on obtaining a full refund. Consumers who have not received instructions should contact QVC for refund instructions.
