Paintball Gun Adapters Recalled by RAP4 Due to Impact and Laceration HazardsDate: 7/3/2008

WASHINGTON , D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Paintball Gun Remote Line Adapters Units: About 2,000 Manufacturer: RAP4 (Real Action Paintball Inc.), of San Jose, Calif. Hazard: The remote line adapter can burst when over tightened, posing serious impact and laceration hazards to consumers. Incidents/Injuries: RAP4 has received two reports of incidents involving the recalled remote line adapters, including one that scratched a consumer when it burst. Description: The remote line adapter is used to connect a paintball gun to a pressurized CO2 tank. The adapter is a black cylinder and is attached to a black remote line cord. "RAP4" and the "SN" (serial number) are printed on the adapters. Sold at: Online at www.RAP4.com from October 2006 through April 2008 for about $40. Manufactured in: China Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the paintball gun adapter and contact the firm for a free replacement adapter. If this happens the track of the vehicle can unexpectedly lock, causing riders to be ejected off the vehicle or lose control and collide with bystanders, a fixed object or other vehicles. Distribution: Nationwide Date: 9/11/2008 Reason: ZF MARINE HAS DISCOVERED THE ZF THROTTLE AND SHIFTER CONTROL HAS THE POTENTIAL TO FAIL. Distribution: NATIONWIDE Date: 9/8/2008 Reason: The top of the bicycle handlebar stem can crack and cause the rider to lose control, posing a crash hazard. Distribution: Nationwide Date: 10/3/2008 Reason: When used outdoors, the wood in the hammock stand can deteriorate over time and break, posing a risk of falls and lacerations to consumers.
