WASHINGTON , D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Units: About 2,000 Manufacturer: Bear Archery, of Gainesville, Fla. Hazard: The triggers on these crossbows could fire when the safety mechanism is moved from "safe" to "fire" position without pulling the trigger. Bystanders could be unintentionally hit by an arrow fired by these bows. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: The recall involves five models of Compound Crossbows: Outfitter XB340 Compound Crossbow with model number AFB8959340 Manufactured In: United States Remedy: Consumers should discontinue use of the product and contact the firm for a free trigger replacement.
