Tysabri is used to treat MS (multiple sclerosis). Typical Side Effects of TysabriThe typical common side effects are:
Contact your doctor immediately if you develop signs of infection such as fever or chills; sore throat, coughing, congestion or other signs of infection; redness, pain, or swelling of a skin wound; or burning or difficult urination. Contact your doctor immediately if you develop signs of these side effects hypersensitivity reactions including can include urticaria (hives), dizziness, fever, rash, shakes, severe itching, nausea, flushing, light headedness, shortness of breath, and chest pain. If you experience a serious allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives) to Tysabri, seek emergency medical attention. The most frequently reported side effects with Tysabri in clinical trials were infections, severe or life threatening allergic reactions, depression (including thoughts of suicide), and gallbladder problems. These events occurred at rates ranging from 0.8% to 2.1%. More serious side effects were bacterial infections such as pneumonia.
