Medical Doctor - fraudulent misrepresentation
I told my doctor that if an elective procedure he was recommending was an outpatient procedure that I did not want to do it. After assuring me that it would be an inpatient procedure, I went ahead with the operation. I was then bill on an outpatient basis. I have attempted to rectify this matter with both him and the hospital to no avail.

I told my doctor, a member of the Sanger Clinic, that I would agree to an elective surgery that he was recommending at the Piedmont Medical Center only if it was performed on an inpatient basis. After giving me reasonable assurance with statistical certainty, I agreed to the operation. I paid my co-payment on the day of the operation, spent the night in the hospital but was then billed for additional expenses three months later because the doctor defined the procedure as an outpatient procedure. After weeks of phone calls and meetings, neither the doctor nor the hospital will change the billing.
