ATT Mobil - ATT Is Not Standing Behind Their Roadside Assistance Program
We added a service to our cellular phone plan -- ATT Roadside Assistance. The program was advertised as a part of ATT. We were billed for the service by ATT and ATT received our monthly payment for it.
In March 2008 during a rainstorm our car stalled in Mesquite and we called the ATT number to have a wrecker dispatched to us to tow the car home. One stipulation of the service was that a licensed driver had to be with the car and must have the ATT cellular phone connect to the plan in their possession.
The driver of the tow truck, from JJ MR TOW in Mesquite backed into our car, severly damaging the hood, then towed it to our house. The driver had no insurance information with him.
I called ATT and was told they had NOTHING to do with this service, it was contracted out to another company and they would have a representative of it call me. They never called and ATT has refused to disclose any information about this company to me so I could file suit.
I called the owner of the tow truck and he advised he would fix my car if I would bring it to him, or he would come pick it up for the regular tow fee, which was totally unacceptable.
I had uninsured motorist coverage on my car and had it fixed under that, paying a hefty part of the total cost myself.
ATT still refuses to accept responsibility for the action of their roadside assistance program, refuses to give my any information as to who is responsible, and now has turned me in to a collection because I terminated my contract with them before its expiration date.
