Direct Tv - wrongly billing me
I had recieved a promotion coupon from Direct Tv in the mail advertising cable Tv for 29.99 a month. I was previousely paying Comcast cable 60.00 a month and could not afford it, when I contacted Direct Tv I was assured by the gentleman that I spoke with that he could give me a better package deal than what I had with Comcast.
He lied to me and told me my monthy bill would be 29.99 plus tax per month, when I got my first bill it was for 60.00, I had also recieved an email telling me that I had to go to this website to apply for some sort of discount which was never told to me at the time I sighned up with Direct Tv, I was told that after a period of time the discounts would be applied to my account..which on the current bill I have they gave me a credit of 27.00 why and for what it does not say.
Since I had already had my Comcast service disconnected I went ahead and mistakenly paid the 60.00.
The next bill I recieved was for 87.78, which I circled the plan price of 52.99 which is not what I agreed to pay each month and included the 29.99 coupon I had recieved in the mail and sent the bill back to Direct Tv asking them to please correct my bill and I would be moe than happy to pay it.
Today I recieved another bill, this one for 87.78 and the same choice monthly price of 52.99.. I immidiately contacted the billing dept at Dirct Tv asking them to correct my bill and was told that I needed to be transfered to Customer Service since they sighned me up for the service that I currently had. I discontinued the phone call at that point because their was no profit in going through all of this again..
My service is scheduled to be 'interupted' on July 24th, 08, and I have chosen not to pay Direct Tv another penny...Not only was I lied to by the initial representative I spoke with, but I was treated dishonestly by the billing dept not willing to correct the problem and bill me for what I agreed to pay for.
