National Fitness Financial - Overbilling me
I joined Ladies Total Fitness Workout in Lithonia, GA in June 2007. I was told that I could cancel my membership at any time as I long as I sent the cancellation in writing. I was apprehensive about signing up because I have severe back problems and was unsure if I would be able to continue the workout permanently but the trainer that signed me up told me that she had been working with the company for a long time and that she was sure that I could cancel. Shortly after use my back pain flared up and I needed to cancel. National Fitness refused to cancel my membership. After a month of nasty reps I was informed that I could only cancel if I received a note from my doctor. My doctor sent the note to them and they still didnt clear my account. They hit me with 161 in excessive collection charges and have been calling me since I cancelled harrassing me to pay the collection fee. I tried to negotiate with them that I would pay the 61 but not collection fees that were applied to my account AFTER my membership had been cancelled. I am getting nowhere with these people. I am unable to reach a supervisor an account manager or anyone other than the rep that keeps calling my place of employment everyday. Any help in getting this matter cleared up would be greatly appreciated.
