J.P. MORGAN CHASE - Unfair credit card practices
My credit card was used for an automatic annual states quarters purchase. When I received the bill I was already a month behind in payment. I attempted to call Chase but customer service was closed so I logged into the Chase website and paid the 62.06 charge. However, the credit card had not been used in such a long time that the Wells Fargo bank account number had been changed because of an Identity theft problem. The next morning 31408, I called Chase, explained that the bank account may have changed my account number and proceeded to pay the 62.06 charges again over the phone and close the account. My confirmation number was 510852453. Because the first payment was returned they are not charging me 39. even though I paid the balance the following day by phone. I called last night 41406 and they waived the 39, but since I still owed 1.56, the mininum phone payment is 10. plus 14.95 to pay by phone to close the account, so they got another 25. I called today and the website still states I owe 40.58.
My original purchas was 30.71. and so far Chase has gotten 87.06. I have two confirmation numbers showing payments have been made and the account closed, but the charges continue to accumulate.
