Circut City - Service Agreement not honored
I purchase a Hewlitt Packard Laptop two years ago for a little over 2,000 including the sales tax. I then purchased a service agreement for several hundred dollars more. I was high pressured into buying the service agreement and was assured that it would cover anything that happened to the laptop.
A few weeks ago I sent the laptop to be repaired because the fan was, on ocassion, making a noise.
The laptop worked perfectly. I made backups that prove that it worked, not to mention that some friends watched a slide presentation on it the night before I sent it.
I got back a laptop that no longer works. The bag that it was in contained a few tiny pieces of bakelite...
I was told that they couldn't repair it because it arrived full of water. 'Water damage is accidental and the service contract doesn't cover that...'
When I was handed a brochure after I bought the service contract I noticed that it said 'If we can't fix it we will replace it'. At no time was I told there were exceptions AND I sent a working computer that had never ever been near water and got back trash.
