Royal ResortTrading Places - Scam
My husband and I Purchased a timeshare through
Updated On: Wednesday, December 19, 2007
My husband and I Purchased a timeshare through ''Royal ResortTrading Places'' nearly 5 yrs. ago. They showed us a model of a 40 story tower and was told that it would have a casino as well. (the only of its kind to do so) Not only are there no plans to build this, Now, less than a wk.later, of paying 488 for the 2008 maintenance fees (which just happens to be due at Christmas time!) we received a letter today (12-19-07) stating that they are filing bankruptcy!
Last Feb.(2007) was the 1st. chance we had to use our wk. the 1st. night there, we were called and asked to please attend a Very Urgent meeting the following morn. in regards to our time share, We were promised free gifts, and a visa gift card for our troubles. HA! LIARS! We sat through close to an hr. of a sales pitch, then watched some movie, as well as arguing for another hour and a half afterward! (nearly 4 hrs.of our vacation time!) They wanted us to sell or upgrade our timeshare, because they were selling the place. We felt as they were threatening us by saying that: Our Vegas timeshare would be transfered. We pleaded with them, saying look, we've used it once, we've been paying for the studio, nearly 5 yrs. now, (plus annual maintenance fees) we'll GIVE it to you, just let us be free of all this B.S.
Furthermore, I've seen motel 6's that were nicer than our studio. (let me assure you, I'm not just speaking out in anger, but in truth)! The 1st. 4 days of our 6, the elevators did not work. (we were on the 4th floor!) the wall paper was peeling (bathshower was on the other side). The bathroom had prior water damage on base board and had a sloppy quick fix, above the tubshower plaster was falling as I bathed, and when I turned the water off, the knob pushed into the wall, the carpet was coming up were it met the tiled floor, the TV sound was so bad, we chose not to watch it, there was no couch, only 2 wooden kitchen chairs, 1 of them wobbly, and we were unable to use our private balcony! On our 4th day, they finally moved us to another rm. Tell me, were are our annual maintenance fees going???
We feel as though we've been scammed!!!
P.S.
The reason they would not buy our time share back was because it wasn't quite pd, in full at the time, so they pushed for us to upgrade instead.
