Unicare Health Insurance - Denial of Claim
My wife was had insurance through Unicare. She had a pre-existing condition waiver on treatment for asthma. She went to the doctore for diagnosistreatment of a UTI. While she was there, the doctor refilled her prescription for her asthma inhaler. Unicare refused to cover the diagnosis or treatment of the UTI, because the prescription for her inhaler was written on the same visit; which, according to Unicare, means that the UTI was diagnosed and treated as part of an asthma treatment. We have contacted Unicare three times, and everyone that we have talked to has repeated what is written above about why the claim was denied. The doctor who treated my wife and wrote the prescription sent a letter to Unicare stating that the treatment and diagnosis of the UTI had nothing to do with the inhaler prescription, and Unicare has refused to change their position.

My husband lost his leg and filed a claim with unicare, Unicare denied the claim since my husband has diabetes.
He broke his heel through many surgeries contracted MRSA, the infection continued to eat any progress the doctors did to the foot. He eventually lost the foot and his recovery was fast. In all the operative reports did they fail to mention having diabetes contributed to the losing of his leg. But according to Helene Mitchell, claims dept my husband not elgible for dismemberment
