KMART - Kmart is refusing to honor advertised promotion
KMART has advertised for a promotion in thier monthly ad. The promotion is going on until August 13th. The promotion has no limits stated on it..it works like this Buy 1 superpack of duracell batteries and 2 participating PG products and receive a 10 kmart gift card. This requires a coupon (that is redeemed to Proctor and Gamble) and the coupon is obtained from tearpads in the store. The coupons only limitation is that limit one coupon per purchase (which nearly ALL manufacturer's coupons state- and it means that you can only use one coupon per item perchased)
First day I purhased in separate transactions 5 sets of items and 5 gift cards. After the first set, I used my previously purchased gift cards to purchase more items....A store employee stopped me and told me that I was not allowed to use my kmart gift card to purchase more items that day??? they said the words 'to be used on any future kmart purchase' meant NOT today..I was told I could not purchase the items in my cart even..and to come back tomorrow.hmmm....I go home and call management and ask them - do you usually tell customers when or on what they can use thier kmart gift cards??? they said they understood my position and there was no problem if I wanted to continue.
I was again stopped by a store employee saying 'we are not going to continue to let you do this?' Well, I replied to talk to management because they've okayed it.
Next day signs are posted - NOW LIMITED TO ONE PER HOUSEHOLD!!!
Does Kmart have to honor a promotion they've advertised until the ending date? They are basically refusing a coupon by Proctor and gamble - which has no limits stated on it. I am confused, but, I've heard others say that they've advertised for this promotion - and Proctor and Gamble has provided coupons for it, neither one has placed any limits on it....so how can they legally limit this?
