K-Mart - Not honoring advertised coupons
K-Mart is currently running an advertised promotion where customers can receive a 10 K-Mart gift card when they purchase a pack of Duracell batteries and 2 Procter Gamble products. The coupons for the promotion were in the form of tear-off pads available in K-Mart stores, prominently displayed in the Health Beauty section. The printed coupons stated 'One per transaction' with a stated expiration of 8132007. Due to the pricing of the qualifying items, it was possible to qualify for the gift card with less than a 10 purchase.
After the deal received some publication on several shoppingbargain websites, many people took advantage of the offer. Midway into the deal an internal K-Mart communication (available upon request) was sent verifying the validity of the deal and upholding the 'one per transaction' wording. Several days later a second internal communication was sent (also available upon request) instructing stores to remove the coupons from the stores and honor existing coupons on a 'one per household' basis to 'limit the liability' of the promotion.
Responses to K-Mart Complaint
Shocked
I was checking out two deals.
I didn't know I was only to have one. Or so they say.
The check out girl yelled 'you can only use one of these'!!!!!!!
She just threw the one order in a bag and didn't even hand it to me! I felt like crap!
There must have been ten people in line behind me.
I could not justify the way I was treated.
I for one will never walk back into that store no matter what they are selling.
