UPS - United Parcel Service - INSURANCE
I sold an item on ebay and had the item shipped through UPS. IT was a Neon Sign and I had the box marked very well and the packaging was very sturdy. Somehow UPS was still able to break the item. I insured the item for 200 (it should have been 500) Because I sold it on ebay they wanted the receipt from the site. The item sold for 30 but I also charged the buyer for shipping and handling which made the total to almost 300. To replace the item would range anywhere from 400 - 600. They are giving me a lot of problems on paying for the insurance. I did send them a copy of the email that I get from ebay but I changed the amount from 30 to 300 so I could get the full amount. (Which I know I should not have done but that is hind sight). I still don't think that it should matter what so ever weather the item was sold on ebay or if I just sold it no matter what the cost was. I should not have to prove the selling price. The price to replace the item should be the price that is to be considered. Please advise
