Blockbuster - Expelled from Online service
I have been a customer of Blockbuster for several years. Today I received an email stating that there have been numerous complaints by me and they were concerned. Therefore, they were suspending my account while they investigated. I had my wife try to sign up and a message came back stating that the address used was from an 'expelled member'. I suspect that they are not too concerned.
My complaints to them dealt with failure to live up to their advertised terms. As an online member they stated that if you brought an online rental back to the store you would be able to receive a rental from the store at no charge and they would send another movie out within 24hours. I complained numerous times that I had to wait 48 or more hours to have another movie sent out. Often times they would not send the movie until they received mine back. I reminded them numerous times that they were not following their advertised terms. They would often compensate me with free coupons.
I suspect the real problem is with the number of movies that I have obtained. I don't know the exact amount but if you figure out my cost for the unlimited movies that I am signed up for my cost per movie may be .50 cents each. When you compare this to the 3 they charge in the store, this is a real bargain.
Every time I go into the store I'm asked how my online is going. When I tell them about the problems, they tell me to go online and click the problem with rental button and complain. They also solicit every customer who checks out to sign up for the online service.
In summary, I see no reason for them to tell me they are concerned about my complaints and suspend my service when what they are really doing is banning me from obtaining unlimited rentals as I have paid for.
Thanks for your help.

Dropped By Blockbuster
I had a similar episode with Blockbuster. They dropped me citing numerous complaints. Like you, I had been renting about 4 to 5 videos per week. I believe we were dropped because we were not making money for them. We did nothing illegal, just used their membership services 'too well'. I wonder how many other people have been dropped because they were renting too many videos. Sorta like Sprint.
