International Buffet Complaint

International Buffet - MgrWkr Out of Control on Family(s)

Good Day,

On June 9th I believe its correct. A High School Graduation just finished with the ceremony and about 5-7 families of our niece gathered for a dinner at the International Buffet. They generally let you go straight in and seat you and you can start dining by going to pick your meal. The waitress then goes around and asks how many tickets would there be and how many adults and how many children on each ticket. If there are any children claimed then the waitress will then usually ask the age of the child so they can put the right amount to charge for that child.

This is a very nice , very big Chinese All - You - Can - Eat Restaurant. Well 2 familes named out the amount of children they had and their ages. When the families were all done dining and mingling together people started to get up to leave and pay their bill. The 2 families went up to the register to pay and a very, very, cruel lady and I say cruel because she did not hesitate to do what she did. She started in on my Sister In Law about her kids. She said she has to pay adult prices for my nieces because of their SIZE. She had a slight accent being Chinese but we understood exactly what she said. She said that my 2 nieces Jade and Jade who are 10 yrs old and 8 yrs should be charged adult prices because they ate like and looked like adults. She said they were big like they are adults and she said it right in front of the children who were embarassed and hurt by her remarks. She snapped at my Sister In Law and My SIL confronted her about insulting her children and the lady said she doesnt care, the billed needed to be paid. She then looked over at the 2nd family and told them that the same thing goes for my Nephew Andrew who is 11 yrs old and is in the 6th Grade. 'He is not a child he is an adult'. 'Look at him, do not try to cheat me, he is adult'. We tried to get up to let this lady know she was out of control and that she made the biggest mistake of her career but our other relatives asked us not to put fuel on the fire and let the 2 families handle it. Well my Sis In law said she was going to get her mother that was still sitting talking with another party at a table and this lady starts to run after her saying 'you pay this bill , you pay now'. Thats when my Sis in Law and a couple other women from our party just about tore into this woman but the men held them back. We couldnt believe the remarks we heard and she blatantly killed our nieces self esteem and hurt our nephew to a point that he started to cry because he said he started it all. The 2 families do not know what to do. They approached the Restaurant thru letter and trhey have yet to recieve a response. I cant let this woman get away with this. There are problably about 30 witnesses to this and I believe they have 3 statements from other patrons who were within earshot of the hurtful words this lady said.

Our family is of Polynesian Decent ( Samoan ). There is a stigma that Samoans are Large people and people think 'BIG' when they hear samoan. Our children are not freakishly large. Not even close but Andrew is of Average size (skinny).The Lady just messed up and they need to make this right. Like right now!!
