Take-Two Entertainment - Maker of Grand Theft Auto,, Video Game
I was car jacked at gun point in May 2005 when the vidio game was at it's most popular point. The juvenile responsable for this crime totaled my automobile, did not ask for money, did not intend to make a profit from this crime, later I discovered that the gun used was only a BB gun. This kid was only playing a dangerous game as depicted in the popular vidio game,

MAKERS OF GRAND THEFT AUTO 3 SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ALLOWING ADULTS ONLY VIDEO GAME TO BE SOLD TO MINORS
I was car jacked at gun point in May 2005 while Grand Theft Auto 3 was at it's most popular point. The juvenile responsible for this crime did not ask for money, did not intend to make a profit from this crime but totaled my automobile and left it crashed less than 1 mile from the crime scene. The 16 year old was only acting out in real life what he had been experiencing playing Grand Theft Auto 3.
Later I discovered he had jacked me using a BB gun that looked all too much like the real thing. I (and the police) learned this information the next day when he bragged to his friends about the crime.
This childs play costed me in excess of over 17,000. in actual damages, not to mention the stress and other emotional damages as a result of this ordeal. The justice system and family court won't allow me to take action against him because of his juvenile status.
I believe that it is the parents' responsibility to monitor what their children do, however I do feel that the makers of the video game should share some of the responsibility because it never should have been made available to a 16 year old. Over 30 million copies were sold nationwide with an 'M' rating (mature) but following other law suits against it's makers the rating was changed to 'adults only' in which case most stores would not stock and most parents would not have allowed a 16 year old access to the game. In a resent law suit the city of Los Angeles sued the game's makers for hidden pornographic material.
Car jackings are now at an all time high in my area and it is my belief that others have been victimized for the same reason as I had been, childs play.
Let all responsible parties stand up and be accountable for our childrens' actions and quit allowing making money to
be our only concern.
