Michael''s - Bait and SwitchFalse Advertising
Michael's Stores in Tacoma, Washington and Colorado Springs, Colorado have both advertised with signs in the store that items are on sale for a certain price. When at the checkout, however, the items were rung up at a higher price. When told that there was a sign that advertised the items on sale, I was told that they were old signs from a sale that was no longer on, and refused to honor the advertised price.
When it happened the first time in Colorado Springs, Colorado, I thought it was a simple mistake, but when it happened again at a Michael's store in Tacoma, Washington, I now believe that Michael's is deliberately misleading customers by advertising items for sale at a price they do not intend to honor.
