affinity potatoe chip co - unlawfull termination
I was fired from my job of 3 12 years due too missing too much work while caring for a disabled parent. The company knew my mother was very sick..going through chemo and radiation and I was caring for her, and taking her to all her appts. At the time the co was in financial difficulty so they fired alot of people for various reasons. I feel I was wrongly terminated. I asked the company how I can get back on..and they wanted me to start with the temp service..doing the same job for 8:00 an hr,,, When they fired me due to attendance I was making 9.50 hr. I refused because I felt they were doing me wrong. The company knew very well that I was indeed taking care of my mother.That was oct of 2005, since then I havnt found a job that Iwant to keep or making the same amount of money..for almost the whole time that I worked for affinity snack foods..they kept garnishing my checks for past bills in a marriage I had just left..I knew that they took alot of money over the years. I kept asking when is this going to be done ..then there was always an extension..Then after they fired me, I recieved approx 2000.00 in checks that they overtook by continuing the garnishments. On a few occasions while I was employeed with them I would recieve a notice that the insurance wasnt getting paid for 2 mos and they took it right out of our wages. I confronted them and there was always a lame excuse as to why they havnt recieved a payment for 2-3 mos from my employer.. This happened to several others as well.
