dell - my dell laptop blew up
My Dell inspiron 6000 laptop was charging when it started to make sizzling sounds and smoke was coming out of it luckily my husband walked into the room when he did and so he flipped the laptop over and noticed the battery was bright red and was burning through the fabric it was sitting on so he disconnected the charger and thats when my computer blew up a huge white cloud of smoke and the battery blew up in pieces now it's dangling from the melted plastic that is keeping it together. my computer has a big hole right through the keyboard area and my screen got warped from the heat. I called Dell tech services department and they offered to give me a refurbished notebook with no warranty and are sorry this happened to me. I can't believe that my house almost caught on fire and not to mention I have lost all of my files I used for my business and it's going to take alot of my time to have to redo all the work I lost. I feel they should have taken more steps to notify clients that they new owned a recall notebook.
