US Postal Service - Postman Doesn''t Care Where He Parks
This is to notify you of a very serious safety issue that presents itself on a daily basis . That being mailmen who park less than the required amount of feet from the corner and who upon request refuse to move their trucks. This situation presents itself on a daily basis with the carrier who delivers mail in the area of Laurel and Louisiana Ave. Laurel is a one-way Steet which crosses Louisiana Ave.
This particular carrier has no regard for his safety or for the safety of drivers wishing to drive across Louisiana. A request was made from aproximately three weeks ago concening his parking his truck less than ten feet from the intersection blocking the vision of anyone having to cross the intersection. He still refuses to move the postal vehicle to the opposite corner and when questioned, replied, 'This is my corner'. When I informed him that I would report him to his supervisor, he replied, 'Do what you need to do'.
I did report him this morning and was told that someone would be sent out, only to see his truck in the same position. I am a good driver, but even I lack the ability to see thru this truck. I would suggest than someone handle this situation before their is a horible accident on this corner. I have photos of this hazard and would gladly offer them to anyone who gets injured at this intersection.
