Radio Shack - Incompetence in Cell Phone sales
Radio Shack became an agent of Cingular the beginning of January 2006 and had a special promotion on the Motorola Razr phone if you subscribed to new service. I went in on Friday evening to get the service and the phone for my son, who was out of town at the time. I already had 6 different Cingular phones in my name. I was there for 3 hours while an arrogant and incompetent teenager attempted to sell something of which he had no knowledge at all. He said their system was not working properly and phoned Cingular to open the account. I gave Cingular all the information over the phone and then handed the phone back to him and that is when the teenager found out from the Cingular agent that he would not get credit and commission for the sale, so he HUNG UP on him. He told me I would have to return the next day to finish it. The entire time, his store manager was standing there, looking as lost as the teenager was. I went back the next day and spent another 3 hours, while he fumbled through everything. There was also supposed to be a FREE Bluetooth earpiece (you buy it for 39.99 and send in for the rebate). He told me that they would automatically send it to me and I did not have to do anything else to get it. The phone number they assigned to the phone ia a LONG DISTANCE number. They told me not to get Cingular's Lock-Line phone insurance for 3.99 per month, but instead, they have a free replacement plan for a one-time 49.99. The next day I found out that I had to buy the BlueTooth and send in the receipt for the rebate, but the offer had ended the day before, which was the day I had purchased the phone. I contacted their District Office and they were instructed to GIVE me the earpiece. I had to go back in the store for that. 4 months later the phone developed problems and my son took it back to the store. He was told that the service plan I purchased did not cover it, but if I would have paid an additional 5.00, it would have been covered. Fortunately, Cingular warranties their phones for 1 year for defects and did replace it. So, they have my 49.99 for a service plan, that is no good and I wasted about 9 hours in their store dealing with brain-dead idiots, making my blood pressure soar. They were rude, arrogant, and completely clueless. I would really like to be compensated for what they have done. Cingular wants 35 to change the phone number to a local number, also.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that because the teenager hung up on the agent from Cingular WITHOUT cancelling the sale, 2 days later I received a phone in the mail and another phone number with it. I have to go through the hassle of getting through to Cingular to explain what had happened, and mailing the phone back to them, and getting that phone number cancelled. That kid was really an idiot.
