Blue Shield of California You decide?
My wife and I went on vacation a few weeks ago. About a week ago, my wife and I caught the stomach bug. I went to the emergency room, here in Redding, with the worst pain I have ever had in my 57 years on this earth. My Doctor put both of us on a high dose antibiotic. The prescription is a 10 day thing, 1 pill a day for 10 days. I got my prescription filled and I got 10 pills and paid 1 co-pay. As for my wife, she has Blue Shield of California. The pharmacy told us that Blue Shield of California would only give her 3 pills for 3 days, then, we would have to go back to the pharmacy and the prescription would be left open and they would let her fill the same prescription again for 3 pills. So, what they are doing is charging her a co-pay each time. The bottom line is we will have to pay 4 co-pays for 10 pills. Note that the Doctor wrote the prescription for 10 pills. These pills are time release pills and we both must take them to get better. It looks like, to me, that Blue Shield of California is making 3 X the co-pays. I just want to thank Blue Shield of California for taking advantage of all of us in California. (And the waste of gas) to go back to the drug store 3 extra times. I think Blue Shield of California must have a lot of gas and money to waste. I sure don't. I was told by the pharmacy that they have been doing this for years. Can a class action suit be started
