Toyota Motors - Refuses to repair new vehicle emitting noxious fumes
New 2009 Prius began emitting noxious fumes at 3300 miles. Smells like burning plastic or metal. Fumes permeate clothing, burn eyes and cause dizziness. Dlr has tried to repair 3x, unable to determine cause. Dlr's svc mgr confirms odor is not typical for Prius, gives him headache too. Toyota maintains odor is normal (without having inspected it), has suggested it is a personal health issue and that 'perhaps Prius is not the vehicle for me.' Toyota is willing to schedule field svc tech in appx 1 month (meanwhile no loaner or other compensation). They have already given every indication that they feel it's normal for a Prius to have an offensive odor, and that it's simply my problem.
