Wells Fargo Bank - funny business with R.E. taxes escrowclosing costs
My complaint is that I didn't realize it at the time of closing, but I believe Wells Fargo Bank did something fishy with the taxes I paid on the house I purchased, because at tax time, the amt. of taxes they said I'd paid, was much lower than it should've been for the year I owned the house. This gave me a smaller tax deduction than I should've gotten that year. And I also think they arranged the closing costs to benefit them and not me. So they put more money into their pockets and took it out of mine. In addition....they billed me for shortage of escrow in my account, saying my insurance bill had gone up. However, when I called my insurance company, they informed me that my bill had not gone up 1 cent, since I first purchased it on the same house.. So Wells Fargo both Lied, and did something with my financing to falsify a lower monthly payment at first to me...then charged me more after the real amount of yearly taxes were figured into my payments, a year after my closing. They had also tried to force me to pay a higher amount of interest on my mortgage, after they gave me the estimate of costs and just before closing was held. But since I noticed it objected strongly...and also threatened to go to another bank for my mortgage at the last minute, they decided to give me the promised interest rate at closing. I also asked the banker about doing a refinance when the rates slid back down, he promised me he would not charge me any closing costs, etc... to redo it, since I was made to accept a higher rate at the time I closed. When I went back to him to fulfill his promise, he wanted to charge me all over again, for a lot of closing costs that he'd promised me he would not do.The only thing he offered to take off the closing costs, would've been his application fee, which in no way, covered all the costs I'd asked him to not re-charge me for. He expected me to pay him over 2500. again...Plus more tax escrows, etc., for a refinance....and this was only after I took the first loan, about year prior.. I guess I should have forced him to give me that promise on paper, because he refused to stand by it, and not refinance my mortgage at the lower rate, when it came out, unless I agreed to pay all of the closing costs, all over again, that soon. Wells Fargo Bank uses poor practices it's employees makes false promises to their clients, just to secure a loan from them. Then they screw you !!.
