Dish Network, from day one, has been deceptive and untruthful in their dealings with me. I signed up with them on September 15, 2008 for the Dish Latino Max package. I reviewed the package on their website and printed out a copy for future reference.

During the next few months, I continuously had problems with the programming and spent many hours on the phone with their technicians, trying to resolve the problems. The most annoying problem was not being able to locate various programs on my TV. The channel numbers on the Dish Network TV Guide did not coincide with the channel numbers on my TV, most specifically: Fox News and AMC (American Movie Channel). This problem was never resolved.

In April 2008, my programming changed and a few TV stations were discontinued. Most importantly to me was the discontinuance of Fox News. I contacted Dish Network and explained the problem. The Help person told me that Fox News was not part of the Dish Latino Max package and if I had been previously receiving Fox News, it was in error. I talked to a supervisor and he gave me the same story. He said he viewed the Dish Network TV Guide for Dish Latino Max package and Fox News was not included in the listing. I continued expressing my concerns to Dish Network (using the chain of command) and the last person I talked to, told me that I could change my programming to another package that would include Fox News, but I would have to pay a higher monthly fee. I declined.

On April 16, 2009, I wrote Dish Network a letter and canceled my service with them. I enclosed a copy of the Dish Latino Max package that I originally printed out to show them that Fox News was included in the listing.

I received several phone calls from Dish Network personnel, informing me that since I didn’t complete their two-year contract, I would have to pay a penalty fee for breaking the contract. My answer was that Dish Network broke the contract by changingeliminating the Fox News channel and I didn’t feel obligated to continue doing business with them.

Yesterday (Aug 29, 2009) I received a phone call from a collection agency in reference to an outstanding bill with Dish Network. I told the lady that I didn’t owe Dish Network anything and not to call me again.

I have an excellent credit rating and I can only expect that Dish Network will try to ruin my credit with the major credit reporting agencies.
