National Action Financial Services - How to deal with companies that are rude liars?

I made a purchase from BlockBuster and forgot to return the movie. We have been back and forth from Gordon, GA to Lizella, GA (moving). So, I came across the movie while packing up and planned to return it. Well, usually, Blockbuster sends a letter reminding someone of an overdue movie or a phone call and I knew it was strange that I never received one. A few days ago I receive a letter from NAFS saying, 'I owe an outstanding balance for BlockBuster. I have been notified by phone and mail multiple times and it is an effort to collect a debt.' So I call and spoke with a rude woman from National Action Financial Services and she said the overdue balance would be turned over to collections if I didn't pay it and she could do nothing about it. I told her our situation (moving) and let her know this is the first and only notice we have received. She basically cut me off the whole phone call, overriding what I say. She never asked me if I wanted to dispute it, instead, she said, 'Well, I will just mark the account as 'refused to pay outstanding balance,' or you can pay me by phone, other than that I have to give a brief report of what was said over the phone and turn it over to collections.' So when I did tell her I wanted to dispute it, I asked her why she never gave me that choice; she claimed that they are not supposed to ask, it's the consumer's responsibility to ask for the balance to be disputed. So she marked it as a ''dispute'' (I guess). Then, I asked her if and when will I be notified of the dispute, and she said they won't be notifying me. I was about fed up with this woman, so I told her to give me the number to her client, and I will speak to them myself, and that's when she said they will notify me by mail. And hung up. Did she handle my call correctly? Can you tell me what I need to do and what to watch out for from here? Thank you
