Empire Auto Group - Lies and deception
I went to this car lot because I was preapproved and they said they did the cash for clunkers deal. They proposed that I leave my car there and drive home the car I was interested in buying. They said that the cash for clunkers had ran out of money but they would get me a good deal and use my car for a trade in that would be almost as good as the cash for clunkers. After having the car for 5 days they called and said the paper work was ready. During those 5 days I looked further into the cash for clunkers and found that it had to be a new car that had never been titled to qualify. Lie 1. They also told me that they would get this car for me for under 17,000. Lie 2 They were selling it to me for 21,000 which is what a new one is sticker priced for. They told me that all the origianal warranty was still with this car which had 9000 miles on it. I find that many of the warranty with this car is only good for the original owner. Lie 3. When I went back and said I just want my old car back and will go elsewhere they gave it to me and when I got a few miles down the road it overheated. I opened the hood and they had removed my radiator cap. I guess hoping I would ruin my engine and come back. They have renewed my skepticism in used car salesmen.
