Suttel and Associates - Illegal activity
Suttell and Associates conveniently 'lost' my response to their 'summons' and filed a default hearing against me.
I have proof of delivery and acceptance of the letter they said they never received, and in that letter was the demand for proof of debt by the legally required copy of the contract with my signature on it.
When I demanded that, they filed suit. This is a crime according to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in section 809 part b. According to that statute, debt collections must cease when a debt is said to be in dispute. But they filed a court case against me instead.
Now I wonder if I should go to court and collect the 1000 in damages I could be owed under 813 part a, paragraph 2 or if I should just my complaints to the FTC and the Washington State Attorney General. Maybe both.
Suttell and Associates has proven the axiom that debt collectors are bottom feeding scum. Sorry about the soap box, but they have been harassing me for too long.
Take care, everyone!
