Entergy - Entergy fried my computer eqpt. and refuses to reimburse me to replace it.
In May 2009, Entergy fried my computer, monitor and speakers and admitted in a letter to me that my equipment was destroyed as a result of their equipment failure; however, they refused to reimburse me the 1173.17 I spent to replace it. Following is a quote from the letter I received from Superior Claims service, Inc. on May 27, 2009.

Entergy's investigation into this matter has revealed an equipment failure. This is an unavoidable and non preventable service disruption. Because this loss was not due to any fault or negligence on the part of Entergy, Entergy has no native but to respectfully deny your claim. For this reason, but not limited thereto, Entergy must respectfully deny your claim. If you have insurance, this loss may be covered under your policy.
END QUOTE
This is incredible. Entergy fries my computer, monitor and speakers and they want me to file a claim with my homeowner's insurance company. Entergy is a company with approximately 14,000 employees and a Chairman and CEO who had a total compensation in 2007 of more than 26 million.
It was reported during Entergy's annual shareholders meeting on March 19, 2008, that the total compensation of J. Wayne Leonard, Chairman and CEO of Entergy, in 2007 was 26,187.510.00.
It's a terrible shame that Mr. Leonard receives more than 26 million in compensation, but refuses to reimburse a retired senior citizen living on a fixed income 1173.17 to replace the computer equipment that Entergy admitted they destroyed due to their equipment failure.
It is obvious that Entergy is more concerned with pleasing its corporate officers and shareholders than being fair to its customers.
Simply because Entergy is a utility company does not mean that they can destroy my computer equipment with impunity. They have stockholders and are a very profitable corporation. I am certainly not responsible for destroying my computer equipment. Entergy is and they are solely responsible for reimbursing me the 1173.17 I had to spend to replace the equipment they admitted they destroyed.
Sincerely
Richard Nevers
