DCS- Collections on Student loans - Student Loan debt collectors actually called my neighbors about me! This can not possibly be legal!
These debt collectors are absolutely ridiculous! I have already talked to the US Treasury Dept about my student loan and since I am disabled and on social security, they take money out of my social security check every month. Well, DCS, or, Diversified Collection Services, has been harassing me, my family, and NOW, my neighbors, for money that I am already paying!!! They actually went as far as doing some kind of 'reverse search' where they get the phone numbers of people that live around me and actually called my neighbors looking for me! My neighbor, whom I don't even know that well, came over yesterday with a message from this collector! He was asking her questions about me and wanting to know if I was home! She asked him who he was and why the heck he was calling her, but he wouldn't give out any kind of info to her, other than the fact he was looking for me and gave her his number to give to me! This is where I draw the line! Who do these people think they are!! The man that called my neighbor is Sam Bradley. His phone number is 541-955-7728. He is operating out of Grants Pass, Oregon. In fact, due to some investigating and knowing people in places that can access police files and databases, I was able to get someone to run the phone number he was calling me from and found out that his office is located at 339 Wisteria Lane, Grants Pass, OR 97526. I called this Sam Bradley and let him know that I knew where he was. He tried to deny his location, but I knew otherwise. I informed him to stop calling me, my family and my neighbors and that he was in violation of the fair debt collection act, which is a federal law! I told him I was already paying on this and he told me that he wanted me to set up a voluntary payment plan with them as well! He told me that my payments were being taken out of my social security check and, therefore, didn't count as voluntary! I flew off the handle at that point! I have a fixed income and am paying what I can pay! This company is a scavenger debt collection agency. They prey on the disabled and the elderly. They need to be stopped!!!
