In 2006, I had Dish Network. After contract expiration, I cancelled services, and w services paid in full. I started receiving letters that I was being charged over 500.00 for equipment fees (cable boxes) that had not been returned to Dish Network. After multiple calls and requests for them to send one of thier local Dish Network authorized providers andor installers which drive around town daily in thier Dish Network trucks to pick up the 500.00 in Cable Equipment for documention and a pick up signature, I was told that was not how it works. They insisted that it be mailed to ie: not sure Arizona, Tennessee, California, somewhere out of Texas for credit to my account. After weeks month's of refusing to pay shipping and handeling of thier boxes at my expense, they finally sent me a empty UPS box, w a free paid return receipt to attach, to send them thier equipment. The instructions stated to put the equipment in the box, attach the return paid receipt, and take andor give to any UPS store or driver. i was on my way into town to the UPS store and saw a UPS truck at a local buisness. I asked the driver if he could take receipt of the box, YES, scanned it, and threw the box in the back of his truck. I had a small tracking as a receipt but since then, been divorced and have not lived in the house for over 3 years. I have no clue where it is anymore, possibly in some old files, and nor does my ex-wife who has no clue anyway, who also no longer resides in the house, and probally threw it away at some point as being mute. After a couple of years, if I saw it I probally could not remeber what it was for either. I never heard from Dish Network again untill just recently pulled my credit reports on line, to find that I have a negative credit score from Dish Network for non-payment of 500.00 . After speaking w them the charge is for non-returned cable equipment, the forementioned boxes. How am I suppose to prove that the boxes where sent and they are at fault. I called UPS and according to them, they need the tracking number and still not sure they can still pull up the delivery after years. Now what am i suppose to do. I am not financally capable of just throwing Dish Network 500.00 to clear up my credit report.??????????????????????????????????????
