Wells Fargo Home Mortgage - Loss Mitigation: Loan Modification
In September 2008 we calledour mortgage company (WFHM) to let them know we were having difficulty coming up with the October payment they said they could set us up on a repayment plan NOV, DEC JAN we were to pay 870 then in FEB there would be a balloon payment of 1,200. We were told that after paying Jan payment send the mortgage company a hardship letter along with expenses and pay stubs and that they would remodify the loan. We were told that our next payment would be in March 2009. We called in every week to ask what was happening with our remodification we weretold that it is in loss mitigation and they would call us when it was ready. We called every week to ask what stage it was in and always were told they will call you when they have a decision. The paperwork was never sent into the adjuster until March 5 2009. We then were told they couldn't help us because the adjusters had the paperwork and they would call us when they had an answer but feel free to call every week for s. During all this time we were told not to send payments because they would be sent back to us. In May 2009 we received intent to foreclose papers we called WFHM and they said not to worry about them becausethey could push the date of the foreclosure back. The date for foreclosure is August 26th 2009. We recieved a phone call on June 10th 2009 that we weredenied due to lack of income we were 610 in the defecit for a modification. Also we now owe 5,900 in back payments. They offered us a new plan of paying 2795 by June 26th 2009 and then 890 for JULY, AUG SEPT then a balloon payment of 3200would be due in OCT at that time they could try a re-modification paperwotk again. We are fed up so we finally called HUD and The national foreclosure hotline for some free counseling and to find out what we can do to stop the foreclosure. It seems to us that WFHM just wants to sell our house or have us deed it to them so they can make money. We have equity in our home. We have all documentation of dates and times we called WFHM and what they said to us. The practices of WFHM do not seem legal they are unethical and need to be stopped. They are turning families out on the street and they don't seem to care. They say they are there for you and all they want is for you to keep your home but when it comes down to it they are just another greedy company.
