Chrysler - Auto Warrant
The drivers side window on my Chrysler Sebring Convertable does not move up and down properly. I took it to the dealer to have the problem corrected under the Chrysler Extended Warranty Contract but they've declined to cover the cost of fixing the problem. The terms of the Chrysler Extended Warranty include coverage for the Comprehensive Mechanical coverage and Power Group (includes power window motors, window flex track etc.). The window glass itself is not broken which I could understand them not covering the glass if that were the case but this isn't the problem. The window glass is fine but the window regulator and lift plate are broken. I tried to resolve the matter with Chrysler Customer Service, their extended warranty division and the dealer. Chrysler customer service representatives stated they understood my point but an internal decision has been made not to cover the repair costs. It doesn't make any sense to me. Like I stated above, I could see if the window was broken and I'd asked to have the glass replaced which wouldn't be covered. However, that's not the problem it's the parts that move the window up and down that are broken. The dealer repair person stated the regulator that's in the car now is no longer available and when they order the new part it won't fit the glass so they have to order an entire new piece of glass. I shouldn't be held accountable for the company changing their parts that no longer fit the existing parts.
