Mirena IUD - Please BEWARE of SIDE EFFECTS
I had Mirena IUD inserted in Dec. 2008. It was the most painful experience I have ever had! I had severe pains and cramping for 3 days! I couldn't even stand up straight. Finally after a week I went back to my doctor to make sure it was still in place and I was ok when she informed me that I had an infection. I have never in my 29 years had any kind of vaginal infection. My doctor gave me medication and said it was normal and it would go away in a few days. Two weeks later I had to go back to my doctor turns out that I had another infection. This happend 3 times!!
I started having a lot of headaches, my stomach always feels bloated, I have gained 15 pounds, my skin went crazy with acne all over my face, chest and back, I haven't had any kind of period or even spotting (other than the first 5 days of having it inserted) in 4 months, I always have dull cramps in my lower abdomen, I have swelling that comes and go's in my vagina and even if I did have any desire to have sex (which at one time I did) it is painful and I just can't. I am depressed!! I just feel horrible!! I cry over everything (I am crying now) and I feel like a completely different person. I have talked to my doctor about it but she defends Mirena and suggested I see a phsycologist. Although I was offended by the way I was treated, I went to a phsycologist and by the end of my second visit he suggested that I was having side effects from my IUD!! I have always been a happy, healthy, outgoing woman and the only thing in my life that has changed that could cause any of what I am going through is I had an IUD inserted. I am in the process of finding a new doctor to have it removed.

Awful Side Effects On Mirena
I have had massive hair loss. Constant feelings of anger and depression and my face looks like a pizza. I havent had acne like this in my life!
