DCS- Collections on Student loans - Decieved Me. Tricked me into giving acess to my money.
I was contacted by a person (Caller) Claiming to be an employee of Great Lakes Higher Education Corp. (My Federal Loan Holder). In the Month of April 2007. The Caller inquired if I would like to begin making payments on my federal student loan held with Great Lakes. I agreed to make monthly payments on my student loan to Great Lakes. Caller requested and received my personal information verbally over the phone during this contact. I agreed to make payments monthly to Great Lakes Higher Education. I agreed that Payments were to be applied to My Student Loan held by Great Lakes. I sent one (1) on time payment per month for Jan.2007, Feb 2007 and March 2007. All Payments after March 2007 were and are still being auto deducted from my Checking account. I have made a total of 25 payments at 118.00 each totaling 2950.00. All payments were made on time. I have NO late payments. Upon investigation I learned that 0 (Zero) payments have been applied to my student loans. Rightly there should be 25 consecutive payments showing on my payment history and credit report. However NO payments were applied.
I was contacted by DCS in (Feb. 2009.2 Years Later) I was informed that they would be sending me paperwork for consolidating my Student Loans held by Great Lakes. To my surprise, the forms I received were from DCS in March 2009 were collection type legal forms giving DCS rights to collect monies and fees. Including Giving DCS Rights for DCS to access my bank account and rights to consolidate my loans held by Great Lakes with a lender of their choice.
I informed DCS that I would not be consenting to their requested actions.
I informed DCS that I was not interested in their offer. I informed DCS of my rights as a federal loan holder that I am entitled to assume my own consolidation financing through a lender of my choice. I requested that DCS provide me with all documentation of consents showing my signature and date proving a prior authorization. DCS has failed to provide me with any documentation.
DCS Continues to call me and harass me at my home and my work. DCS is threatening me by claiming DCS will report negative information on my credit file.
I have been making payments on my student loan in good faith for 25 months. I am requesting Investigation of this matter and I am requesting that ALL monies That DCS deceivingly acquired from me shall be refunded promptly to me by way of certified check. I did not authorize DCS to service my Student Loans. I do not authorize DCS to service my Student Loans. Funds that DCS applied to my Student Loan at Great Lakes Higher Education need to be proven by way of Legal document and Statement and in such case I will accept the balance owed to me of unapplied funds. (The difference between 2950.00 Two Thousand, Nine Hundred and Fifty Dollars and Zero cents.) And the dollar amount that DCS “if any” applied to my loans.) Furthermore, DCS is now calling via automated service to get authorization to service my accounts. The automation is on my voicemail and concludes that if nobody picks up then that equals an authorization. I do not give consent to any authorization to DCS either via their auto response system.
