Direct Tv - DVR and Receiver not working
I have had Direct Tv for approx 5 yrs. Since day one, I have had nothing but trouble with my receivers and equipment. On july 31st 2007, they had to send me a 'refurbished receiver' because once again my reciever quit. Now my receiver and DVR neither one are working. From day one, I have never ordered movie any movie channels, I merely got Direct Tv to Tivo my favorite shows while I am away. Now, none of my shows Tivo, and cannot be set to do so because it doesn't work. I have called them repeatedly over 30 times in the past 6months to complain, spoke with Jamar, Frank, and Todd as well as many other 'supervisors'. They doen't care if it works or not, they simple tell me they are 'currently experiencing difficulities with these items and that the engineering crew is researching these problems, and that many people have had the same complaint'! But they will not let me out of a contract that I am not even suppose to have at this time. They claim that when you order or in my case have to receive another receiver due it the old one failing, that starts a new contract of 2 yrs even though I was Never told this. On top of that, I received the receiver on 73107 and now they claim my contract is not up until Oct 09? They have extended it without my permission. So, now I am stuck paying 80.00 monthly and cannot even use my Tv because my screen blackens repeatedly and I cannot Tivo any of my shows. I will have to pay off the rest off my'contract from now until Oct09 if I want to cancel, plus extra early cancellation fees stacked on by Direct Tv as per them. I have been researching this problem on line and see there are thousands similar complaints against this so called company? Are there any Indiana class action lawsuits going on, I am unable to locate them in my state? Please help me.......Beth Villarreal
