Mirena IUD - Mirena IUD caused health deterioration
I had my Mirena IUD inserted in January of 2004. (As of this writing I've had it 5 years and 2 months) About 3 years ago I started seeing doctors where I have complained of severe fatigue, moodiness, weight gain, loss of sex drive, and foggy thinking. At that time I had been experiencing these symptoms for about a year. I was put on an anti-depressant and when that didn't work we tried increasing the dose. When that didn't work we tried an additional anti-depressant. I switched doctors and went through basically the same routine. I went to a walk-in clinic yesterday because I have been exposed to pink-eye from my children this week. Every doctor visit I go to I am asked when my last menstrual-cycle was and I always answer that I don't really have them due to the IUD. Yesterday when I was asked, the thought occurred to me that perhaps I need to research for side-effects that Mirena IUD users have. I sat down and googled Mirena IUD complaints and it was like I hit the jackpot. I read several posts on here and called my doctor's office right away and have made an appointment for next Thursday to have it removed. I wish it could come out now, I don't want to wait. I can't believe all that has been shared regarding this. I have known something was wrong with me and felt crazy for not being able to function at a level that I used to. I feel like I've been robbed of 4 years of my life....and counting. Who knows how long it is going to take for me to feel good again!
