Citifinancial unlawful practices - overbilling,, contacting employer
I noticed you had a lawsuit with CitiFinancial. I have been fighting with them for several years now. I had a second mortgage loan with them and my home went to foreclosure and eventually sold in short sale back in Nov 2004. I was then threatened and harassed by CitiFinancial. They called and threatened my employer, gave out my personal information to our secretary, called my office telling everyone I was in foreclosure. This was all very embarrassing and I called them begging them to stop so I did not get fired. My realtor said the loan should have been absorbed through the proceedings. But CitiFinancial continued their threats. Eventually they offered to let me pay back the loan but with no interest and they said they would not show any negative info on my credit report.. I had to sign the papers though before I could get a copy of the terms. I no longer owned the home and they still wanted me to use it as collateral. I told them I could not do that I no longer owned the home and that was illegal.. Then they changed the papers to show that they were using my car as collateral. A car I also no longer owned. Since all of this fighting they are still charging me interest on this loan at an astronomical rate. They also reported info to the credit agency. I will never break free of it and they know that. Everyone says to just stop paying them but I fear what they will do. They have broken every promise they have made and I don’t want to lose my job because they call my employer. Is there anything I can do? I have been deceived and scammed by this company and it still continues.
Jeffrey
