Mirena IUD - mirena causes all kinds of problems
I had the mirena iud inserted in january 2008, 3 months after my 1st child was born. After the painful insertion and bleeding for a few days, everything appeared like this was a good decision. In sept. 2008 is when all of the problems began and the medical bills started adding up. I had extreme numbness and tingling in my arms and legs. Muscle and joint pain, feelings that i was going crazy.Acne, migraine headaches, numbness in my face, heart palpitations, anxiety, and extreme chest pain. Thought for sure i was dying of some awful disease that no one could figure out. I ended up in the emergency twice, thinking i was having a heart attack. One trip was by ambulance from a dr.'s office. After ekg's, x-rays- nothing, everything was showing good. dr. ordered an mri- thinking maybe a pinched nerve, again nothing. i have insurance and still have incurred over 4,000 in bills just trying to find the problem. I am a 30 year old runner who never has had any health issues before the iud. One day i was researching online about the mirena and boom it hit me. These other womens post sounded as if i had written them. I finally had an answer- the mirena. I called immediately to have it removed. I had it removed at the end of December. It has been two weeks now and i am feeling better every day. Still having pain in my right arm. I feel that mirena is an awful product and Bayer the maker should be resposible in at least the medical expenses i have acquired. This product should be taken from the shelfs. Other women should not have to go through this.
Responses to Mirena IUD Complaint
Mirena
I've had the Mirena since May 2007. I thought the backaches and headaches I'd experienced were about something else until I stumbled upon many complaints related to the device. The cysts, lower back pain, abdominal pain, recent irregular bleeding, explosive headaches, and many more symptoms are no coincidence. I opted for the device originally to reduce the amount of blood flow related to my periods, and for birth control. I'm making an appointment to remove it as soon as possible!
