Sullivan County Jail - Denial of Medical Care Prescriptions
I was falsely charged and arrested by the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department in which they refused to accept, allow , or acknowledge my life saving medications to include nitrate for heart condition. It has also been brought to my attention of the numerous incarcerated that are denied medications prescribed by physicians and at the disgression of the staff for a nice profit beyond prescription pharmacy cost, and only with payment- are allowed to have their medications. In fact, several people have died in the facility due to lack of medical care and the denial of their medications. I fortunately was released within the hour, but the fact that they completely denied my medical prescriptions as well as condition, made me aware that if I died under their supervision- they would cover it up like they do the others. Although I did end up hospitalized the next day due to how tight they had placed the handcuffs causing bruising and possibility of life threatening blood clots due to the medications. Isnt there a law that prohibts these 'self governed authorities' from charging over the pharmacy cost of prescriptions as well as denying people who have no money in their 'jail account' from being denied the prescriptions needed for their health I also heard that they give one type of pill for all illness'- one that makes the incarcerated sleep- but if there was one pill that works for all people and all illness'- maybe they should be marketing it to the world- not just prisoners of Sullivan County Jail. Obviously I live where federal and state doesnt want to be bothered with such attrocities upon law abiding or criminals- were all the same to them.. Apparently this has been going on for years and unaddressed by the state who apparently is making it profitable for this jail in many inhumane and unethical ways.
