US Dept. of Education and DCS,,,, Inc. (Diversified Collection Services) - Diversified Collections-- LIFE TIME PROBLEM
I received 2 student loans totalling 2,500.00 in the early 1970's, since then I have attempted to repay the loans,
however, it seems that the more you pay the more, you owe. These loans had elevated to almost 8,000 dollars
in 2005. I managed to pay the amount down to about 3,400.00 in 2006, only to find that they had elevated again
to over 4,000.00 in 2007. Finally, last year the took 1,200.00 from me and my wife, but we can't see where it
was applied to the debt.... Also, my wife filed the Injured Spouse claim via our taxes, but did not receive any of
her legal portion of our return. We asked a representative at Diversified about the transaction and he laughed and
said that the I.R.S. sent it to them and they were keeping it. By the way, my loan balance has elevated again
and has been turned over to another collection agency (N.C.O) and they tell me that my balance is at 5,000.00
again. My calculations are that I have paid 3 times the amount I borrowed. I advise anyone to attempt to find a
nother means of financing their education...The student loan is a 'TRAP'.
