Washington Mutual - No Foreclosure Assistance
After months of trying to work out back payment solutions, someone at Washington Mutual was willing to work with us at the 11th hour. I was able to fax them information showing my balance in our credit but, my Washington Mutual checking account could not fax them information because the computer system was off-line. I contacted the foreclosure department and they said that I did not follow through on my part of the agreement because I did not fax the Washington Mutual account balance. I notified them that the computer system was down and gave them the managers name to contact for the balance for the previous day. They stated that they could not do that and sold the house anyways. The house was not suppose to be sold for 2 more weeks after talking to the Title company but, Washington Mutual did not abide by the agreement. This was my mother's home and we were trying to pay two mortgages while I was dealing with breast cancer and the house got broken into and everything was stolen and damage was done to the house. We put thousands of our own money into cleaning it up and fixing it up. The loan amount owing was a small amount and we had over 170,000.00 in equity that was suppose to go to my kids for college. Washington Mutual was unresponsive and did not care to help in any way.
